Dr Russell Palarea

Dr. Russell Palarea is the founder and President of Operational Psychology Services, LLC.  He provides investigative consultation, operational training, and program evaluation on threat assessment, insider threat, and counterterrorism to Fortune 500 corporations, law enforcement, government agencies, and global security firms.  Through his company, Dr. Palarea currently serves as the contract Operational Psychologist for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, where he created the U.S. Department of State’s Threat Management Program, and consults on investigations of threats against the State Department leadership, facilities, and personnel worldwide, and foreign Embassies and dignitaries in the U.S.  From 2001-2011, Dr. Palarea served as a Staff Operational Psychologist with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).  Dr. Palarea holds a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Forensics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In May 2017 he was elected as the President of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) and is a Consulting Editor for the Journal of Threat Assessment and Management.
